New year, new reviews.
Hello everybody and welcome to 2021! I’m the Pretend Gamer and I wanted to take a moment to say hello. In case you missed it, I have quite a few new subscribers on YouTube (thank you to my subscribers both old and new by the way) so I thought I would give everyone a taste of what’s to come in the new year.
I want to start things off by being honest: 2020 was not my best year in the writing about games department. I talked a little bit about that in my Catherine: Full Body not-a-review if you would like to know more. I haven’t fully gotten back into the groove of creating videos and posts yet but I just want to let everyone know that I will do better this year. I can’t get much worse, that’s for damn sure!
I will, of course, continue writing reviews in 2021. I hope you all will look forward to that. I’m trying to decide if I should go back to doing videos about topics in the gaming industry. I haven’t committed to anything just yet though. The reason being that there are so many other people doing good work in that department and I don’t know if I have anything to add to the conversation. I just like talking about the games themselves so I may just stick with that.
My question for all of you is what would you like to see from me in 2021? Would you all just be happy with my reviews? Or do you want something more? I’m playing around with the idea of streaming the games I play before I review them. I’m hesitant to do that though since I don’t know if I’m that entertaining while playing games. That’s just one idea I’ve had but I would love to hear some of your ideas! What do you think? Is that something you would be interested in? Let me know down below!
I’ve also thought about adding a “Currently Playing” section on both my channel and website but I don’t know if I want to do that either. I like to surprise everyone with the games that I’ll be reviewing so I may want to keep that a secret.
As for what you can expect from me over the next couple of weeks, I plan on starting this year off with my annual Games I’ve Played This Year of the Year Awards for 2020 a.k.a. the Pretendies. They will be split into two posts over the next two weeks. The games I chose for these awards are pretty good so keep an eye out for that!
After the awards, my reviews will begin again. I can’t wait to talk about some of the games I have lined up so get excited! As I’ve said, I plan to do better this year when compared to 2020 so I hope I can keep up the pace.
